Livasa Hospitals Launches Outreach Out Patient Department (OPD) in Batala to BridgeHealthcare Gap

Batala : As a part of their Community Engagement & Outreach Program, Livasa Hospitals, formerly Ivy Hospitals, is launching their Outreach OPD services in Batala. The first OutreachOPD is scheduled on February 11,2025 atOM Medicos. The initiative aims to narrow the gap in access to specialist medical care by ensuring that residents of Batala and the surrounding villages may consult Dr. Radhika Garg, Nephrologist and Dr. Arjun Ved Gupta, Cardiologistfrom 2 P.M to 4 P.Mwithout having to travel long distances.

Under this outreach program, top specialists from Livasa Hospitals will visit Batala once a week, offering high-end tertiary care services across various specialties, including cardiology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, neurology, urology, and oncology. Patients will have access to advanced medical expertise, ensuring world-class consultations and treatment options closer to home.

Access to specialized healthcare has long been a problem in Batala, a city of around 50,000 people with a population of about 2 lakhs, including neighboring villages. Due to the limited number of emergency services in Batala at night, patients often have to travel to Amritsar, where other hospitals remain the primary choice for tertiary and quaternary care. Livasa Hospitals is filling this void by bringing multiple specialty services closer to the community.

With the rising demand for specialized care in orthopedics, cardiac therapy, neurology, pulmonology, oncology, and other critical disciplines in the region, patient volume will most likelyincrease. The initiative will further enhance access to quality health services and remove the barrier of cost in accessingspecialist care with Livasa Hospitals.

Dr. Radhika Garg, stresses the importance of early detection and timely care in managing kidney diseases. She warns, "Many kidney diseases are curable if detected early, but if the damage progresses too far, patients may require dialysis or even a transplant. Early screenings are essential, something as simple as a routine check-up can prevent serious complications down the road. Simple habits, like staying hydrated and being aware of your kidney health, can go a long way. Looking after your kidneys now can help you avoid bigger health challenges later.”

“Cardiovascular diseases are among the leading cause of death in India; therefore, timely intervention is very important. Despite the high prevalence of heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes in Batala, specialized cardiac care is still not easily accessible. Through our Outreach OPD initiative,we want to fill this gap and provide access to expert cardiology consultations locally to ensure early diagnosis, timely treatment, and better heart health for the community,”comments,Dr. Arjun Ved Gupta.
